An E-book by Will Brink Internet Publications 168 pp. Review: Chris Berry
I've been a big fan of Will Brink for years now, having read many of his columns in Muscle Mag and Life Extension Magazine.
One of the reasons I respect Will's opinions is because he's his own master rather than being "owned" by a supplement manufacturer. Either he thinks something is worthwhile or he doesn't; his paycheck does not depend on his opinion.
In addition, Will has the background necessary to evaluate these curious and confusing compounds. With a degree from Harvard in the natural sciences, Will has spent years studying, experimenting and talking to people in the trenches besides walking the walk himself. As he's often stated, just because something works in a Petri dish, doesn't mean it can be duplicated in the gym.
Fat Loss Revealed is the latest publication by Will to tell it like it is, however, the title doesn't truly reveal what's actually contained in the e-book. No doubt about it, Will does discuss 21 compounds that are commonly thought to help a human lose excess subcutaneous body fat; however that subject only takes up about half the book. The rest contains a detailed, yet easily understood section, "10 Golden Rules of Fat Loss," with some terrific suggestions on how to go about losing lard sensibly, as well as training recommendations with actual routines.
Beginning with the discussion of fat loss supplements and why this information is so important you'll get a good understanding about why weight loss products can be a waste of money, or problematic and downright dangerous if not used properly.
Will takes things a step further in his e-book by describing the most popular over-the-counter fat loss supplements and answering, in depth: What is it supposed to do? What does research have to say? What does the real world have to say?
In the final analysis, he states there is "No magic weight loss pill."
10 Golden Rules of Fat Loss
In "The 10 Golden Rules of Fat Loss," Will switches from what you find in a bottle to other things you need to know in order to reach your goals successfully. The introduction recommends that you read this section first. If you don't implement these "rules," it won't matter what you swallow, your fat will not disappear.
Will's Training Guide provides excellent recommendations on how to train. Believe me, the man knows his stuff and even advanced ironheads would do well to read what he has to say.
As have many others, Will points out that training is not rocket science, but good planning and strategy. "People tend to look for complex answers to simple problems." I guess it's just human nature to try to complicate one's life, but you'll get better results if you learn how to KISS. (Keep it Simple, Stupid).
Will ends the book with a chapter on Saw Palmetto, a must-read for men who are concerned about their prostates (aren't they all?!) If you're a guy, this little gland should be of big concern no matter what your age.
The book downloads quickly and is well-formatted in Adobe Acrobat. There are even computer instructions for the techno-challenged in the first few pages. Although the book itself is 168 pages long, you may want to print out some of the chapters for quick reference, such as those that provide workouts.
This book will be just as relevant five years from now as it is today.
